Few days back, I met an old friend of mine. We had a normal chit chat about every day life and then we moved in different directions. As my steps were moving forward, my memory started moving backwards. Many nostalgic memories started popping in my mind.
We were like best buddies during school life. People use to call us Laurel and Hardy. Sometimes, they even asked that "Are you both brothers?"
Earlier we used to say a no but with time it changed into yes. I still remember, by mistake I wrote his number instead of mine and even he did same in a form.
But time changed everything.
During 11th and 12th standard, we choose different streams and drifted apart. Number of encounters decreased and so did the phone calls. Somehow, 2years of separation ended and we again gained contact. We started living two lives. One was college life and other was reprise school life.
Happiness and sadness are two sides of a coin. Coin flipped and sadness came upside.
One fight changed our paths.
Both us didn't talk due to our so called "ego". And everything changed.
This incident made me ask some questions to myself
No doubt, friendship is enriched with nutrients like regular contact, knowing each other better, trust etc. Every one loves when you get to spend free time with a friend and if lucky then with your best friend. But when we talk about strong bonding and long term friendship then I think regular meetings can be removed from the list.
Life makes you learn many things. It made me learn this secret of friendship in course of life.
Luckily, I have got another jewel or friend in my life. We guys are also very much attached and love spending free time daily with each other. This time again sadness won and responsibilities was the weapon. When I realised that he is feeling same as I felt for my old friend, a golden rule of life struck my head.
TIME YOU SPEND TOGETHER IS NEVER JUDGEMENTAL IF FEELINGS REMAIN UNALTERED.
But the game doesn't end here. Last clause is most important. Feelings are like a connection between two people. It can change the world around you.
Those who can't understand your problem and blame you for it should be made to see the past when you did everything as per their choice. In today's fast world, friendship is used as a stair by some. People put their weight on you and move ahead.
